Hinckley AFC will look to jump back to the top of the United Counties Division One if they can beat Graham Street Prims at Kirkby Road on Tuesday.
AFC, without a game on Saturday, were knocked off top spot by wins for Radford and Aylestone Park.
But with neither of those sides in midweek action, Hinckley will regain the place at the summit with three points against Prims.
Hinckley haven’t played since beating Birstall 2-0 on 3rd January, but have won each of their last eight home games including all five back at Kirkby Road.
They have also won their last five matches in Division One since a 3-3 draw away to Prims in November.
Hinckley were far from their best that day, playing the whole second half with ten men, but came from behind twice to take the lead before Prims hit back.
And manager Courtney Belford wants his side to improve on that day. He said: “They were a good honest group when we played them in November and deserved something from the game.
“The conditions weren’t great but we’ve come on a lot since then. The lads want to right that wrong, we want to make sure we’re keeping the pressure on.
“Our remit is to go back top of the table with a game in hand. After Prims it’s all about Aylestone on Saturday.
“We need to keep up our recent form to get where we want to.”
Prims have played four times since that game, winning twice against St Andrews and Ingles. Their defeats have come against Hucknall Town and Kimberley Miners Welfare, but they led Kimberley for large spells on Saturday before eventually falling to defeat.
It suggests they are a much more dangerous side than their third-from-bottom position in the table would suggest. They are four points behind fourth from bottom Ingles.
The match at Kirkby Road gets underway at 7.45pm.
