Hinckley AFC will play our first team matches at Kirkby Road until the summer of 2032 after signing a new ten-year lease.
The deal extends our existing partnership with Barwell, with the new lease starting at the beginning of the 2022/23 season.
While our ultimate goal remains to bring the town’s club back home, this deal offers the security for Hinckley AFC for the next decade.
This is the club’s second season at Kirkby Road, where we have suffered just one home league defeat since moving in the summer of 2020.
Attendances have also been excellent, with an average attendance of 215 people through the gate despite only four of our matches there being on a Saturday afternoon.
The installation of the new artificial pitch also means the club can use it as a training facility.
Hinckley AFC Chairman, Bryan White, said: “The signing of a ten year lease to continue playing at Barwell offers the club stability and the opportunity to move forward in a stadium that matches our ambitions.
“We would like to thank Barwell Sports Trust and the football club for working closely with us to achieve this.
“While the club’s ambition remains a return to our own ground in the town, the cost and availability of a suitable site continues to be a major barrier.
“Many of our members and supporters feel moving to Barwell was a very positive step for the club, so I am sure this news will be well received.”
Everyone at Hinckley AFC is looking forward to continuing our relationship with Barwell in what we hope will be a successful era for both clubs.
