Three more players have signed for Hinckley AFC ahead of the 2021-22 season.
The trio all featured in yesterday’s friendly against Gresley Rovers and will link up with Courtney Belford’s side ahead of the start of the season in just over two weeks’ time.
Lewis Padmore is an exciting young forward who is quick and direct. The 19-year-old spent time with Rugby Town and Tamworth as a youngster and will add more to the front line.
He’s joined by 24-year-old centre back Brandon Hallmark. He was captain at Southam United last season and was offered a deal at step four this pre-season, but opted to take the offer of more playing time with Hinckley. A communicator and a leader at the back, he can play out from defence with both feet.
Young midfielder Ben Newport has also signed on. He started in the middle of the park against Heather and also impressed against Gresley. He played for Coventrians last season and knows Ryan Conneely through the Strachan Foundation.
On the additions, Belford said: “They’re all good, hungry young players who we can improve. Lewis will complement our forward line well, he’s played for Rugby’s first team and is keen to develop.
“Brandon played well against Gresley and will improve us. He’s another that the fans will like, a real leader at the back and a strong presence.
“We kept tabs on Ben last year and brought him in for the Heather match, when he was my Man of the Match. He’s fit as a fiddle and is desperate to do well. He’s stepped up well so far and we’re hopeful he can hit the ground running.”
Welcome to the club, Lewis, Brandon and Ben!
