Hinckley AFC can now confirm the first four players to remain with the club for the 2021-22 season.
All four featured heavily for the club last term during the seven-match unbeaten run that led up to the premature end of the season – and will be at Kirkby Road again this time around.
Goalkeeper Matt Hill was an ever present after his initial loan signing from Rugby Town late in September. He played every minute of the unbeaten run before curtailment, keeping two clean sheets and making a number of smart saves.
Young midfielder Reece Giles will start his fourth season at the club hoping that this will be his first completed season. A product of the club’s Under 18 side, the 18-year-old made his debut late in the 2018-19 season and became a regular in midfield during the two incomplete campaigns. He also scored his first senior goal two games before lockdown.
Much more experienced is fellow midfield man Tom Weale, who will also remain with the club this season. The former Coleshill Town and Barwell man scored five times in 10 games during his first campaign with the club, including a stunning halfway line effort at Stafford Town.
And exciting winger Isa Abraham has also signed ahead of the coming campaign. He joined from Atherstone in October and played six times before lockdown. He scored one goal and caused full backs regular problems with his pacy and trickery.
We’ll confirm more players between now and our opening friendly of the pre-season campaign at Coventrians on Tuesday.
