Hinckley AFC have today been informed that the club has been allocated to the United Counties League Division One for the 2021-22 season.
The placement made by the FA Leagues Committee follows news of our successful appeal against our initial allocation.
The UCL1 was our preferred league of choice because of the significantly reduced travelling times to the clubs allocated in the league. With more favourable road links for the East Midlands, time on the road was much lower when compared to travel times for the Midland League.
In the MFL1, even in the best case scenario with average travelling speeds, there would be a minimum of 10 games with over an hour’s travel. This included one away match more than two hours away.
The club now looks forward to completing the building of a squad for for the new season. We also look forward to visiting new teams, and some old friends, in the United Counties League Division One.
The full constitution of teams in this league will be confirmed in due course.
