The Hinckley AFC Board have released an update for our sponsors and season ticket holders ahead of next season.
Firstly, we hope that as you read this, you and your family are safe and well during this difficult period.
Last month, the FA announced that the current 2020-21 season for clubs at steps three to six would be curtailed. This meant that no further matches would take place. We would like to thank our sponsors, management, players, members and supporters for their patience and continued support.
Whilst we share your disappointment that we cannot complete the season, the results of a survey of clubs at our level show this was the majority choice. We do not yet know how results from the season may affect a restructure of the non-league system. If that is to be implemented this summer, we await word from the FA.
With last season being declared null and void in March and this season curtailed after only 12 games, we recognise that our sponsors have not received the exposure and value for money that they would normally expect from us. Our sponsors paid for their packages when the pandemic was already upon us and trading conditions were extremely difficult. This makes their commitment to the club even more commendable.
As a community football club we now have an opportunity to repay their commitment. In light of this, we have made the decision to roll all sponsor packages over into next season. This will ensure that our sponsors receive not only the benefits from this curtailed season, but also the entirety of the 2021-22 campaign. Throughout this time, we will leave in place all existing shirt draw competition prizes, sponsorship boards, sponsor season tickets, programme advertising and perks. Player sponsorships will also continue into the new season.
Likewise, we recognise that our season ticket holders have also not received full value for money. These will be extended to cover the complete 2021-22 season at no additional cost.
Members that bought tickets for the match against Stafford Town will be contacted to arrange a refund.
Your continued support remains vital to Hinckley AFC. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Kirby Road when life returns to normal and the new season starts.
