Hinckley AFC can confirm the signing of prolific forward Shane Benjamin as manager Courtney Belford adds strike power to his squad.
The experienced forward, who led the scoring charts in the Premier Division when he plundered 47 goals in the league above four seasons ago, featured for Nuneaton Borough last season and most recently played in the Midland League for Heather St John’s.
His goalscoring record in the Midland League, combining the Premier Division and Division One, stands at 96 goals in 109 starts with the striker counting Coleshill Town, Boldmere St Michaels, Shepshed Dynamo and Highgate United among his clubs, as well as Heather, in that time.
Belford said it’s an addition he’s been keen to make: “I’m delighted to get this one done, and Shane has the potential to be a massive signing for the club.
“Benji is the right type of character that offers us the experience we’ve been lacking, and will be great for the young players to learn from and enjoy being around.
“His goalscoring record speaks for itself and hopefully he can replicate that form here and be the number nine we’ve been lacking.”
Welcome to the club, Shane!
