Hinckley AFC are inviting applications for the positions of Under 18s Manager and match secretary.
Applications should be emailed to the club’s Chairman Bryan White, on chairman@hinckleyafc.co.uk, before noon on Sunday 3rd November.
The club wish to be frank with our supporters and update fully on the Under 18 team.
John Ramshaw agreed to take on the role of Under 18s manager in the close season and put together an almost brand new team of his players.
With a number of last season’s team now being overage, and the Club not having the infrastructure to compete at Under 21 level, these players opted to seek 1st team games either at other clubs or in other U21 sides.
Unfortunately, John found the travelling difficult with his professional job and on the eve of the season informed the Directors that he would be stepping down.
The Club are indebted to Matt Nutt, the Under 18s coach, who stepped in and kept the team going whilst a permanent replacement was found.
A number of players who came to the club in the close season decided to join clubs closer to their homes, and it would be fair to say that September and October has been a massive struggle for Matt, ensuring the availability of players, finding new players and motivating the players who remained.
The club will be eternally grateful both to Matt for being professional in this task under the difficult circumstances, and to all the players who remained committed to the club at this time.
During these past two months, negotiations had been taking place between the directors and a number of interested applicants for a permanent replacement, with Matt taking up a role in the Academy at Coventry City in October.
With no replacement finalised in mid-October, Matt has now begun his role at Coventry City, and the Club are now inviting applications for the position.
We are also inviting a volunteer to take on the role of Under 18s Match Secretary.
Gerry Abbott had been responsible for this role since the inception of the Under 18 side and the club would like to place on record their gratitude to him for his work in the role.
Gerry retired from the Board of Directors before the season start and between the rest of the Directors, we have been covering the various tasks.
This role involves attending every Under 18 game to organise match team sheets and record match data for the MFYL match report, it also involves liaising with opposition clubs to confirm match details, and the Regional Referee Secretary to organise match officials.
Full support and handover would be given to any volunteer who takes on this role, by Match Secretary Stewart Dee, and the Directors of Hinckley AFC.
