Hinckley AFC will look to pick up their first away win of the season in their second game in three days at Chelmsley Town this evening.
Just over 48 hours after completing a 2-0 win over Paget Rangers, AFC get back on the pitch to take on a Chelmsley side who have had a mixed start to the campaign.
After a win and a draw in their two home games, they have since shipped 12 goals in their last two away from home and will want to bounce back quickly against Hinckley.
Manager Courtney Belford, though, knows his side will need to be on their game.
He said: “They (Chelmsley) are a mixed bag. From what I’ve seen of them and the managers I’ve spoken to, they’ve had a couple of off results. They conceded seven (at Brocton) and they’ve won a couple so you never know what you’re going to get.
“It’s on a 3G pitch so they tend to be a faster pace, as midweek games do anyway.
“We’ve got to do the best we can, but worry about ourselves rather than other teams. We’ve got enough quality to compete against anybody, and as long as work hard and earn the right early doors it’s another game we can win.”
He hopes to have a number of players available again for the clash at Pack Meadow, after trio Ryan Ball, George Brindley and Mark Williams all missed the last couple of games.
But he has no injury concerns going into the game and says it’s an exciting time to be able to pick from such a strong squad.
“Ryan’s been on holiday but he’s available now, and so is George Brindley. I think we’ve missed him at right back, he’s got so much energy and he was superb in the first couple of games. Mark’s available again too.
“It means we’ve got a full squad to choose from and we’ve got a headache, but it’s a headache we want to have.
“If we want to have any aspirations of doing anything we’ll need 19 or 20 players. It will be difficult to leave some out, but when they get their chance they need to take it like Greg Webb and Ash Gray did against Paget.
“So it will be difficult for me to pick the team but we’re looking forward to it and we’ve got to get it right.”
