Hinckley AFC will look to continue their 100% record when they make their first away trip of the season to Stafford Town this afternoon.
AFC have picked up six points from six so far in home wins over Heath Hayes and Coventry Copsewood, two different wins in which one had late drama and the other settled by early goals.
And Courtney Belford’s side could continue Hinckley’s best ever start to a league season with victory over Stafford today.
AFC have never won the opening three games to a league season,
Stafford, having only played one game so far, were beaten on the opening day as they lost 3-0 at Chelmsley Town.
But they are back at this level after a season away, having been harshly relegated two seasons ago after finishing third from bottom.
But they finished 5th in the Staffordshire County League last season, the highest of any side to apply for promotion, and so immediately bounced back from step seven.
Their Evans Park home, now with a 3G artificial pitch, is a favourite for visiting supporters with a good number expected to travel from Leicestershire this afternoon.
It’s one of three visits to a 3G pitch coming up in the next couple of months, with Chelmsley Town and Lichfield City also having artificial surfaces.
The ground can be found off Fairway, Stafford, with the postcode for SatNavs recommended as ST16 3ZH. The hosts have requested that supporters do not park at the neighbouring cricket club.
