Weather permitting, Hinckley AFC play their only game in a six-week period when Racing Club Warwick visit the Welfare Ground this afternoon, kick off 3pm.
The game is, however, subject to an 11-30am pitch inspection after heavier than expected rain yesterday has left the pitch’s condition in doubt.
The Racers will be looking to keep their title charge on track with an eighth straight league win at the Welfare Ground – their recent run including a 5-1 win over Hinckley two and a half weeks ago.
That was the last time John Ramshaw’s men took to the pitch, and they’ll be hoping to bounce back from two straight defeats if the game goes ahead this afternoon.
The addition of two new strikers could help – Oli Roome and Warren Dakouri joining from Shepshed and Coventry United respectively since the last game.
Ramshaw hopes the duo, combined with Grant Ryan up front, will help AFC score goals on a more consistent basis.
Finding the net hasn’t been a problem for Warwick though – only Heather St John’s and Lichfield City have scored more goals than Scott Easterlow’s men. Ben Mackey, Trea Bertie and Luke Cole are all in double figures for them.
The result of the inspection will be posted on our official channels from 11-30 this morning.
