Match Preview: Cadbury Athletic (h)

After suffering their first defeat of the league season last week, Hinckley AFC have the opportunity to put that behind them when Cadbury Athletic visit the Welfare Ground tomorrow.

AFC’s 3-0 reverse at Paget Rangers was their first blank of the season so far, but James Jepson’s men return to action looking to put that right with three points against the Chocolatemen.

Jepson said his side didn’t compete well enough last week, but is urging them to return to getting the basics right ahead of their return to action.

They now look for three points against a Cadbury side who have started the campaign well – and were top for a spell until recently.

Tomorrow’s visitors sit fourth in the table and, like Hinckley, have lost just one game so far. Four wins and four draws put them on 16 points from their nine games, while they are also still in the FA Vase after beating Wem Town last week.

They have kept three clean sheets in their last four games – while Odane Barnes is their top scorer on four.

AFC could move within a point of Cadbury with a win, also holding two games in hand – while three points for Cadbury could move them back to the top of the league if other results go their way.
