After three postponements, Hinckley AFC and Cadbury Athletic play their fixture at St John’s Park at the fourth attempt this evening.
AFC increased their unbeaten run to six with a comfortable 5-0 win at Bolehall Swifts on Tuesday evening, in which Luke Richards and Steve Hart both scored twice.
Now, they face a Cadbury side who are seven points clear of the Midland League Division One relegation zone, and picked up a valuable point in a 2-2 draw with Leicester Road on Tuesday.
Alex Tesfom and Lewis Kemp found the net for the Chocolatemen as they avoided a third straight loss. They were unbeaten in their first four games of 2018 before those back-to-back defeats.
Cadbury have the equal best defensive record in the bottom half of the table, but also have a regular goal threat in the form of 17-goal Odane Barnes.
Likewise, Hinckley’s Hart and Richards have found the net on a regular basis and it was Hart who salvaged a point for AFC in the reverse fixture back in September, a late penalty making it 3-3 after Hinckley had surrendered a two-goal lead.
