With much of the Midland League Division One in Buildbase FA Vase action this weekend, Hinckley AFC and Coventry Copsewood have the chance to make up ground on sides around them when they meet at Allard Way tomorrow, kick off 3pm.
Hinckley’s trip to Copsewood is one of only two league games this weekend, with Stafford Town entertaining Atherstone Town in the only other Division One meeting.
After their successful run last year Hinckley have a bye to the second round of the FA Vase, meaning they don’t enter the competition until November, while Copsewood enter in the next round – the second round qualifying.
It means that Carl Abbott’s side can move into third spot in the league with a win over a Copsewood side who could do the same – albeit having played two games more.
Copsewood have won four and lost four of their games thus far, and are now in the middle of a run of seven home games in their next eight – having started with seven consecutive games away from their Allard Way home.
The last meeting of the sides came in April last year, when Hinckley emerged 2-0 victors, with the reverse fixture in Coventry ending 2-2.
Coventry Copsewood play at Allard Way, Coventry, CV3 1JP.
