AFC snap up leading photographer for photo call

Hinckley AFC’s focus moved briefly from on pitch to off pitch activity as the club’s players and coaching staff linked up with professional photographer Mike Sewell for the club’s official photo call.

With years of experience at the Leicester Mercury and across the country in both editorial and commercial photography, Mike lent his expertise to provide the club with some iconic images to immortalise the 2017-18 squad.

The photo call came ahead of this weekend’s huge Emirates FA Cup tie at Mickleover Sports, with Carl Abbott’s side looking to equal their best ever run in the competition.

Despite the experience being a first for many of the group, under the watchful eye of Mike the evening went by in a flash as the squad quickly got used to being in the spotlight.

A member of the club’s media and communications team, Darren Izzard, explained: “As a non-league football club, to have the opportunity to work alongside someone of the calibre of Mike Sewell is massively important. It helps us to showcase what we have achieved since forming just three years ago.

“To be able to capture the squad in such a way is great for everyone associated with the club; fans, players and our sponsors, who we hope will appreciate the time and effort put in behind the scenes to help push the club forward off the pitch.”

“The club would like to thank Mike for his support and we look forward to supporters sharing in his great work.”

The official team pictutre will be released shortly, but to help celebrate the shoot we’ve put together a short video encapsulating the evening. It can be found on our YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/_VALmCO3D_U

A gallery of the photo shoot will be available here at www.hinckleyafc.org.uk shortly. More of Mike’s work can be found at www.mikeysewell.com.
