Hinckley AFC play their final home pre-season friendly tonight when Nuneaton Town visit St John’s Park, kick off 7-45pm.
The National League North neighbours are midway through a Midland League Division One treble, having played Nuneaton Griff yesterday before they line up against Atherstone Town tomorrow.
With just ten days to go until Hinckley’s competitive season begins away at Worksop, this will be the toughest test yet for Carl Abbott’s side as Boro, from four levels higher in the non-league pyramid, are the visitors.
The friendly was agreed last summer as part of the agreement in Alex Penny’s transfer to Liberty Way, with Penny having a successful first season at Nuneaton culminating in last week’s move into the Football Lesgue with Peterborough United.
AFC finish their pre-season line-up with trips to Bedworth United on Saturday and Barwell in a week’s time.
