Don’t forget we’re holding an open meeting in Gadsby’s tomorrow for members wanting to get more involved with the running of the club.
On the back of the AGM, we decided to relaunch the club’s Community Group, an independent group with its own budget and agenda tasked with strengthening the club’s links in the local community.
The relaunched Community Group will have its own Chairman and structure with the intention of bridging the gap between supporters and the Board of Directors. It will report to the Board on a bi-monthly basis.
Initially, its roles will involve:
- Identifying and organising fundraising opportunities;
- Strengthening and growing our links within the community in Hinckley;
- Identifying and growing our membership base;
- Being the voice of the fans to the Board, lobbying for any changes the members would like to see.
Hinckley AFC Chairman, Steve Jelfs, said: “Over time, we hope the group will evolve into a strong bridge between the supporters and the Board so that we can continue to understand and deliver what our members want.
“This is an exciting new venture with which members and supporters can get involved, and we hope for a great turnout on 4th July to launch the group successfully.”
The meeting starts at 8pm and coincides with a training night, meaning fans will have the opportunity to speak to players and management staff ahead of the new season.
