Hinckey AFC play their final home game of the season tomorrow with a local derby against Nuneaton Griff, kick off 3pm.
Carl Abbott’s side have lost just three league games at St John’s Park all season and will be desperate to ensure that doesn’t become four against The Heartlanders tomorrow.
Hinckley have the advantage in the race to finish second and are two points ahead of third placed Atherstone Town, having played a game fewer.
And having returned to winning ways with a comprehensive win over Pelsall Villa on Easter Monday, AFC will want to build on that and make it a strong finish to the season ahead of their final away trips to Chelmsley Town and Heath Hayes.
And tomorrow AFC take on a Griff side who sit solidly in mid-table, their 51 points from 35 games putting them in ninth place.
John Farmer’s side have won their last four league games to lift them into the top half, and in Matt Brennan possess a striker who has netted 24 times this season, 16 of them in the league in just 21 starts.
Hinckley will, though, be missing Mark Williams, who misses out against his side he captained last season through suspension after his red card against Atherstone.
On top of Williams’ absence, Ryan Paddock is out with a fractured eye socket and Jamal Clarke is also injured, giving Abbott a dilemma in the heart of defence.
