Hinckley AFC enter the final five games of the season in second spot and will look to strengthen their grip on it against Chelmsley Town at St John’s Park tomorrow, kick off 3pm.
With Carl Abbott’s side now out of all other competitions after Tuesday’s League Cup defeat to St Andrews, they can now focus entirely on finishing as runners-up behind champions elect Bromsgrove Sporting.
The Rouslers can win the league with a win over Studley tomorrow but AFC are locked in a battle with Leicester Road to finish directly behind them.
They currently lie one point ahead of Leicester Road, with both sides having five games left to play this season.
Meanwhile, Chelmsley are locked in a battle to avoid what would be an immediate relegation back to Division Two. They finished as runners up in the Second Division last year but are only ahead of second bottom Pelsall Villa on goal difference in the battle to avoid the drop.
They are one of five sides separated by just four points, but aside from playing AFC twice all their remaining fixtures are against sides in the bottom six and their goal difference is the best of the sides involved in the relegation battle.
They have kept two clean sheets in their last three, while their biggest attacking threat this season has been ten-goal Gary Turner.
