At a meeting of the club’s Board of Directors on Wednesday, it was decided which charities the funds from our World Cancer Day initiatives would be given to.
The club’s directors decided that the money would be split between three charities, which have either local connections or which the Board felt were apt because of what they support.
Cancer Research UK (Hinckley), Children with Cancer and Bloodwise are the three charities chosen, with donations also being made to Simon Blyth’s partner Julia and to the family of Harvey Priest, our junior goalkeeper who suffers from leukemia.
The final total raised by the sales of our special edition pink shirts, alongside the big raffle and letting off of pink balloons, is still being calculated.
