With the Hinckley AFC squad having become severely stretched in recent weeks, Carl Abbott has moved quickly to add Jack Farmer to the squad.
A versatile former Chasetown defender, Farmer can play at right back or centre half and was highly regarded while at The Scholars having come through their youth system.
Then-manager Charlie Blakemore put him on contract at the age of seventeen, predicting a future in the Football League, but despite a trial at Crewe Alexandra the move never materialised.
Since then, he has had a spell with Coalville Town.
While Farmer joins, fellow defender Ryan Paddock is taking a step back from the club for a short time after becoming a father for the first time recently.
The commanding centre half has also been promoted in his army career and reposted to Bath, but he remains registered with the club and will still be vice captain in Abbo’s squad.
