Hinckley AFC return to Midland League Division One action tomorrow afternoon with a trip to Uttoxeter Town, kick off 3pm.
Carl Abbott’s will hope to build on a solid start that has seen them win three of their opening six games against a Uttoxeter side who are re-acquainting themselves with life at step six after a season’s absence.
Uttoxeter impressed in their inaugural season in the Midland League in 2014-15, finishing four points below Hinckley in fifth, but voluntarily returned to the Staffordshire County League last term.
They returned to the Midland League after another fifth placed finish last season, and have had a mixed start to the campaign with three wins and three defeats.
But they go into the game full of confidence, having recorded back-to-back comprehensive wins. They hammered Coventry Copsewood 5-1 in their last league outing and, and then knocked Cradley Town out of the Buildbase FA Vase with a 4-1 win last week.
Luke Lewis has been their main source of goals, netting seven in all competitions thus far, but like Hinckley, Uttoxeter have only kept one clean sheet this season and both sides will be keen to improve on their defensive records.
Uttoxeter play at Oldfields Sports Ground, Springfield Road, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, ST14 7JX.
