Hinckley AFC Manager Carl Abbott has completed the signings of Mark Williams, Jamal Clarke and Rico Taylor.
With just over a fortnight to go until Heanor Town visit St John’s Park, Abbo’s squad is nearing completion with the addition of this latest trio.
Former Nuneaton Griff midfielder Williams was captain of the Heartlanders in their successful campaign that saw them finish third last term. Abbott says he will add ‘bite and leadership’ to Hinckley’s midfield, and is a naturally defensive minded player that will allow others to express themselves going forward.
Clarke is a former AFC Rushden and Diamonds central defender who Abbott hopes will strike up a commanding partnership with Ryan Paddock. He started out at Evesham United, before joining Diamonds in July 2013. He has since played for Daventry Town.
Meanwhile, Taylor will be no stranger to Hinckley fans having played 24 times for the club last season. Capable of playing at left back or on the wing, Rico returns after spending time at Coleshill Town in the second half of last year.
One player who will not be re-joining, though, is Javia Roberts. The diminutive winger has opted to move to a higher level, joining Southern League side Redditch United.
Welcome to the club Mark, Jamal and Rico – and good luck Jav!
