Defender Alex Penny has today left Hinckley AFC to join National League North side Nuneaton Town on a one year deal.
The former Hull City youngster joined Hinckley from Stourbridge in November, and now steps up four levels in the non-league pyramid on joining Boro.
Capable of playing at centre half or in the middle of midfield, Alex made seventeen appearances for the club last season, netting two goals.
Speaking to Nuneaton’s official website, Boro boss Kevin Wilson said positive reports from Carl Abbott helped with the signing.
He said: ‘Alex came to my attention a few seasons ago and I’ve had my eye on him ever since. Carl Abbott also gave me good reports and I know that he is a very capable lad who fits the bill for us.
‘We need someone strong and powerful at the back who can play a bit as well so I’m delighted we’ve signed him.’
Everyone at Hinckley AFC wishes Alex all the best for the future.
