If previous meetings between Hinckley AFC and Stafford Town are anything to go by, this afternoon’s game between the sides at St John’s Park promises to be action packed.
The two teams have faced off three times over the past two seasons, with the trio of meetings producing 22 goals and three Hinckley wins.
The corresponding fixture last season saw Hinckley put eight past their opponents as Matt Gardner helped himself to four goals, and today Carl Abbott’s side will face a Stafford side who are battling to avoid relegation.
The Reds are three points and two places above second bottom Pelsall Villa but have just three matches left this season, with Pelsall having three games in hand.
Stafford will play their fourth game in a week at St John’s Park tomorrow, having already played Pershore Town (lost 2-1), Cadbury Athletic (won 3-2) and Coventry United (lost 5-0) in the past eight days.
Meanwhile, Hinckley had a midweek without a game and will be looking to build on last Saturday’s 13-0 win at Southam United in their bid to keep the pressure on the top four of the Midland League First Division.
