Abbo: The Lads Were Fantastic
Hinckley AFC Manager Carl Abbott was full of praise for the way his side went about their business in the 2-2 draw at Coventry United on Saturday.
AFC became only the second team to prevent the table topping Cagemen winning a league game this season, and were on the brink of snatching all three points until Richard Blythe’s 95th minute equaliser.
And Abbo was delighted with the way his side bounced back after the defeat to Heath Hayes on Tuesday. He said: ‘I’m still coming down. It was a brilliant game if you were a spectator today.
‘Perhaps, in the last couple of weeks, we haven’t given value for money to our supporters a couple of times, which is rare for us but we certainly have today.
‘I’m really proud of our boys and it just serves to prove that we’re not far away from that winning formula. People outside the club can talk rubbish and spout their garbage, but we’re still very much together.
‘The fans were fantastic today and the players are really together in there. The dressing room is fine, there’s no problem and they appreciate the support they’re getting from the fans.
‘They played with a lot of passion and a lot of heart, and I thought we showed some true quality.
‘We’ll get to where we need to be, I firmly believe that.’
