Match Preview: Littleton (h)
With both Hinckley AFC and Littleton yet to draw a league game this season, it looks unlikely that the spoils will be shared when the two sides meet at St John’s Park tomorrow evening, kick off 7-45pm.
The two sides are separated by just one place in the Midland League Division One table; Littleton sitting in seventh with 27 points from their fourteen games and Hinckley in eighth with 24 from eleven.
Their start to the season has been helped in no small part by their defensive record. They have only conceded fifteen league goals this season (only Cadbury Athletic have let in fewer) and have recorded eight clean sheets in all competitions.
Carl Abbott’s side will move above their visitors tomorrow if they can beat the Worcestershire outfit, who have lost three of their last four league games.
Littleton’s main attacking threat is likely to come from Jamie Clarke, who has scored eighteen goals already this season at better than a goal a game. Only four players from Division One have scored more, and two of them, Luke Richards and Marco Adaggio, will be available to play against Clarke tomorrow night after Adaggio served the final game of his suspension on Saturday.
In the two matches between the sides last season, the teams won a game apiece. After Littleton triumphed in an ill-tempered affair at Five Acres in August, Hinckley got their revenge with a 4-0 victory in November’s reverse fixture.
