Abbo Adds Benjamin

Carl Abbott has pulled off a major coup by securing the services of last year’s Midland League Premier Division Golden Boot winner Shane Benjamin.

The 47-goal former Coleshill Town frontman adds to the already burgeoning goal threat posed by AFC’s forwards and joins with the first pre-season game against Heather St John’s just over three weeks away.

Formerly of Stafford Rangers, Rushall Olympic, Redditch United and Shepshed Dynamo, Shane has an abundance of experience at higher levels and will add much more than a deadly eye for goal to Abbott’s squad.

He secured last season’s Golden Boot award on the final day of the season, scoring seven goals in Coleshill’s 8-2 thumping of Coventry Sphinx to ensure that he pipped Basford’s Ruben Wiggins-Thomas to the award.

Delighted with the latest addition to his squad, Abbott said: ‘Shane is a big, strong and bustling forward with a fantastic attitude and temperament. We’ve beaten off serious competition for his services next year and he is a massive coup for the club.’

Welcome to Hinckley AFC, Shane!
