Match Preview: Lichfield City (a)
Hinckley AFC return to league action this afternoon when they travel to Lichfield City in the Midland Leage First Division, kick off 3pm.
Following Tuesday’s night 2-1 win over Barlestone St Giles in Tuesday night’s Jelson Homes Senior Cup semi-final, Carl Abbott’s side make the trip to Lichfield in the hope of extending their unbeaten run to nineteen in all competitions.
AFC are still second in the league following last week’s 2-0 victory at Nuneaton Griff, and are 1 point ahead of Bromsgrove Sporting (who have 4 games in hand) and 3 ahead of Bolehall Swifts, who have played 3 games fewer than AFC.
Thirteenth placed Lichfield will play their seventh home game in a row in all competitions tomorrow, but haven’t won in the league since a 3-0 victory over Atherstone Town on 29th November.
Lichfield’s main threat tomorrow is likely to be Mark Rose: the striker has scored 24 goals in all competitions this season, including one in the reverse fixture back in November.
Lichfield play at The City Ground, Brownsfield Park, Brownsfield Road, Lichfield, Staffordshire, WS13 6AY. The ground is approximately a ten minute walk away from Lichfield Trent Valley railway station.
