Hinckley AFC Club Statement
Following yesterday’s Midland League First Division fixture against Pilkington XXX, it is with great regret that an alleged instance of discrimination aimed at a Pilkington XXX player involving Hinckley AFC supporters has been brought to our attention by the day’s match officials.
It is with great disappointment that these allegations have occurred, and as such we would like to say that Hinckley AFC will not tolerate such behaviour and we will be seeking to provide as much support as possible to establish the facts behind this particular incident.
As a community club, we would like to reiterate the importance and responsibility that every member, player and supporter has in promoting the correct values that fit within the club’s remit of One Community, One Voice, One Passion.
Everybody linked to Hinckley AFC is a representative of our growing football club, and it is absolutely vital that we make it abundantly clear that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated.
Supporters found responsible of discrimination will be subject to club sanctions, and if proven could be subject to further sanctions in accordance with UK law.
Following receipt of this information, Hinckley AFC has placed on record an unreserved apology to the player in question, and the team of players and officials of Pilkington XXX.
We trust that this is an isolated incident and we can continue to progress as a club, providing a community friendly environment for everyone attending Hinckley AFC fixtures in the future.
That responsibility lies with each and every one of us.
