Bennett-Tindall Delighted to Repay Fans
Hinckley AFC winger James Bennett-Tindall was delighted to be able to pay back the fans with a big win after the victory over Pelsall Villa.
Bennett-Tindall played his first competitive game for the club on Saturday, after being an unused substitute against Uttoxeter.
Speaking after the game, he said Tuesday’s performance was below par, and said that the fans deserved better.
‘I think we really owed it to the fans after Tuesday. It was a bad performance on Tuesday, so I think that was a really good way to repay them.’
He also said that he had planned to switch positions regularly with the side’s other winger, Tyrone Clarke-O’Connell.
‘Me and Tyrone are very similar players. We like to really switch it around, because I think a lot of full backs will really struggle against us.’
During pre-season, Bennett-Tindall and Clarke-O’Connell were attracting interest from higher level clubs, prompting both players to sign contracts.
‘I was really pleased to sign a one year contract last week. I’m really looking forward to spending the season with the club. The fans have been brilliant.’
This weekend is definitely a family affair for the young former AFC Telford winger, whose brothers, both of whom are professional footballers, start their seasons.
‘Both of my brothers start this weekend. Kyle starts today (Saturday) for Doncaster, and my other brother (Elliott, of Norwich City) starts against his former club, Wolves, on Sunday. Hopefully we all have a good season this year.’
