Prolific goalscorer Richard Hanslow already gave Hinckley AFC fans a glimpse of his abilities in August 2018, even before joining the club.
The striker netted a wonderful strike for Stapenhill to give his side the lead on the opening day of the season, a fine goal despite the AFC backline keeping him quiet for large spells.
Having started out at Ashby Ivanhoe and also played for Heather St John’s, he made his name at Gresley, where he played with AFC manager James Jepson.
He played more than 100 games and scored nearly 50 goals during his time at the Moat Ground, as part of a side that won back-to-back promotions – scoring 21 times during the 2011-12 season to end as their leading scorer.
After leaving Gresley he linked up with Bardon Hill, who he helped fire to promotion from the East Midlands Counties League. He was also part of the side that beat Hinckley in the Jelson Homes Senior Cup final of 2015.
He scored 10 goals in 24 games for Bardon Hill in the Midland League Premier Division before leaving for pastures new, ending up at Stapenhill.
He was appointed as the Swans’ assistant manager at the start of the season, and netted a couple of goals for them before linking up with AFC.
