Young defender Mitchell Tomlinson joined the club from playing youth football in September 2014, and made his debut in the 2-1 FA Vase defeat to Tipton Town.

Having initially joined the club as a full back, manager Carl Abbott saw Mitchell’s long term future in the centre of defence. He made that switch towards the end of the 2015-16 season and continued to flourish, winning the Young Player of the Year award.

That progress was halted by a series of injuries that meant he missed the entire 2016-17 season, but he returned to first team football the following season and is looking to cement his place in the back four.
