26 years old, Matt Bailey is a goalscorer who is equally comfortable playing in an attacking midfield slot or as a striker.
He was a highly regarded youngster at Wolverhampton Wanderers, and despite not making a first team appearance he was a squad numbered player during Mick McCarthy’s successful reign at Molineux.
He had loan spells at Kidderminster Harriers and Burton Albion, making a big impression on the then-Brewers manager Nigel Clough, who was keen to secure Matt on a permanent deal.
However, his professional career was ultimately derailed after sustaining a nasty broken ankle in training at Molineux shortly before his move to Burton was due to be completed.
Subsequently, Matt fell into non-league football, playing in both the Northern and Southern Premier leagues with Stourbridge and Barwell before linking up with Carl Abbott at Wolves Casuals.
He originally joined AFC in the summer, but left for Studley in September after being in and out of the side. He rejoined Hinckley in January 2016 for a third time after a brief spell twelve months previously.
