Young centre-back Jacob Shilton returned to Hinckley from Atherstone Town in early September 2025.

He had a brief spell with the club on dual registration the previous season, and then came back on a more permanent basis to add a vital defensive option. 

Shilton came through the youth system at Atherstone, and was a standout player in their successful Under 18s side that Ross Innes and Adam Davies brought to the club when in charge there, and which new Hinckley AFC coach Lee Davies helped lead.

Having broken into the first team, he featured more than 60 times for the Adders, around half of them starts, either side of that temporary stint with Hinckley – including a start in an FA Cup tie at Rushall Olympic the week before joining AFC.
