A young full back, Drew Kear, like a number of other young players, joined Hinckley AFC having come through the Strachan Football Foundation.

After a covid-shortened first season in men’s football in 2020, he attracted the attention of a number of professional clubs. Trials at Football League sides followed while he continued his development at Hinckley.

The following season, he was a crucial feature of the side that reached the United Counties League Division One play-off final before a move to Rugby Town, who he helped win promotion from step five.

He ended his contract at Rugby late in January 2024 to return to Hinckley, featuring a handful of times in our title-winning season, before joining Leicester Nirvana.

A season at step four with Leicester Road followed, and after joining Barwell in the summer of 2025, he linked back up with Nirvana on dual registration before returning to Hinckley.
