Match Preview: Bolehall Swifts (a)
Bolehall Swifts were the last team to beat Hinckley AFC in the Midland League Division One, and Carl Abbott’s side will be keen for revenge in the reverse fixture at Rene Road tomorrow night, kick off 7-45pm.
Back on 14th October, AFC were 2-0 up at half time thanks to goals from Luke Richards and Matt Gardner, but Bolehall overturned the deficit and snatched a late winner courtesy of Tom Lapworth’s curling strike in stoppage time.
Since then, AFC have gone 22 unbeaten in all competitions and have risen to the top of the league table, seven points ahead of third placed Bolehall, who have four games in hand.
Tomorrow’s meeting will be the third between the two sides, who also faced each other in the Les James Challenge Cup this season. Bolehall emerged victorious that day courtesy of Alex Morris’ first half own goal.
Bolehall have won just four of their last twelve matches in all competitions, but beat Pelsall Villa 3-1 in their last outing. They were due to play fellow high flyers Bromsgrove Sporting on Saturday, but the match was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Bolehall’s main threat tomorrow is likely to be Dave Yonwin. The striker has scored 26 goals in 27 league games this season, the joint most in the league, and has been well supported by thirteen-goal Lapworth.
Bolehall play at Rene Road, Bolehall, Tamworth, Staffordshire, B77 3NN. The ground is situated just under two miles from the A5.
