Match Preview: Pilkington XXX (h)
Hinckley AFC will play their first home game of 2015 this afternoon as they entertain Pilkington XXX at St John’s Park.
The reverse fixture back in October saw AFC kickstart their rise up the Midland League First Division table with a 5-2 win that ended their run of seven league games without a win.
Now, Carl Abbott’s side are aiming to record a thirteenth win in fourteen games in their unbeaten run that stretches back to the start of November, and they have risen to third in the table following last week’s away win at Uttoxeter Town.
The visitors, in contrast, have lost their last four outings, but goalscoring hasn’t been a problem for them: they have netted 54 times in 24 league matches this season, with Kyle Turner netting 21 of them. He is the league’s joint top scorer alongside Uttoxeter’s James Curley, who Hinckley kept quiet last week.
