A commanding central defender, Ky Green made an impact in both boxes during the course of his first spell at Hinckley AFC.

He made nearly 50 appearances in the Midland League Division One for Atherstone Town and Nuneaton Griff over the three seasons before joining Hinckley.

He was the club’s leading scorer during the early part of his first campaign such was his prowess from set pieces, and made the second most appearances during the first pandemic-shortened campaign.

But that was stifled by a serious knee injury that ruled him out for the entire 2021/22 season, with his welcome return coming as a late substitute in the final match of 2022.

Arguably his biggest impact came in his second game back – an 90th-minute equalising goal in a League Cup semi-final that helped AFC past Atherstone Town on their way to lifting the trophy.

Back to fitness, he was a regular part of the side that won the Midland League Division One title in 2023/24, and despite leaving that summer for Coventry United, quickly returned to Kirkby Road.
