Match Preview: Continental Star (h)
Hinckley AFC’s final match out of their quartet of consecutive cup fixtures takes place tonight as Continental Star visit St John’s Park in the JW Hunt Cup, kick off 7-45pm.
After starting with the Jelson Homes Senior Cup match where Carl Abbott’s side were awarded the Second Round tie against Sileby Town, AFC faced difficult ties against higher level opposition in both the FA Vase and Polymac Packaging League Cup.
And though they were beaten 2-1 in both competitions, Hinckley competed well against both Long Eaton United and Shepshed Dynamo, and could easily have forced positive results.
Instead, they find themselves on a run of three consecutive defeats and desperate to get back to winning ways ahead of their return to Midland League Division One action on Saturday.
The winners of this evening’s match will face a trip to West Midlands Regional League side Wolves Sporting in the Second Round, with the date for the tie yet to be confirmed.
