Match Preview: Pershore Town (a)
Luke Richards will make his 50th appearance for Hinckley AFC if he plays in the league match away at Pershore Town tomorrow afternoon, kick off 3pm.
Carl Abbott’s side will make their furthest away trip of the season tomorrow, where the newly appointed club captain could become just the second player to reach the milestone.
In his 49 appearances for the club thus far, the former Hinckley United forward has scored 33 goals, including 14 in 15 this campaign, and provided numerous assists for his teammates.
Tomorrow’s opponents Pershore have won three of their 13 league matches this season, and sit 17th in the Midland League Division One table having lost their last five in all competitions.
Meanwhile, Hinckley will be aiming to continue their quest of climbing the table, having won the first of their four games in hand on the league’s top two by beating Bolehall Swifts on Tuesday.
But Pershore will provide Hinckley with a tough test. Although AFC won both games against the Worcestershire outfit last season, they were both by the odd goal and only Dom Smith’s stoppage time header gave Hinckley the win at the King George V Stadium in January.
With both sides yet to draw a league game this season, it looks likely that one of the sides will leave the ground empty handed tomorrow.
Pershore play at the 2020SolarPV King George V Stadium, King George’s Way, Pershore, Worcestershire, WR10 1QU. The ground is not far from Junction 7 of the M5 or the A46 at Evesham.
