Match Preview: Coventry Copsewood (h)
Tomorrow’s match between Hinckley AFC and Coventry Copsewood at St John’s Park will see the meeting of two of the Midland League First Division’s form teams.
In their first home game since 17th January, Carl Abbott’s side will hope to extend their unbeaten run to twenty, and consolidate second place in the league with victory over a visiting Copsewood side who have only lost two games since the reverse fixture in November, and have won four of their last five.
Copsewood currently sit ninth in the league table, but have only played 24 matches, the joint fewest in the league.
AFC’s nineteen match unbeaten run has brought seventeen wins, including the 1-0 success against Copsewood in November, where Justin Nisbett’s stunning late strike was the only difference between the sides on a day when the home side played the majority of the match with ten men.
Copsewood’s main threat tomorrow is likely to be Connoll Farrell, the forward who has scored 26 times in 29 games for the Coventry outfit this season either side of a spell at Southam United over the Christmas period. He also scored three times in three games for Southam.
