Twelve Days of Christmas: March

Today we look back at the month of March in AFC’s Twelve Days of Christmas.

After it was revealed that Steve and Joy Jelfs were the ‘mystery bidders’ for parts of the Greene King Stadium, it was announced that the Juniors had stated their intention to become part of Hinckley AFC. This was seen as a key development in the Hinckley AFC story, and Gary Hancox stated his delight that the Juniors had opted to become part of the club.

In the middle of the month, we held a public consultation meeting in the Greene King Stadium, where we opened membership for the first time. That night, 117 people signed up to become a part of the club’s new community football club (picture above).

An exciting month for the club Groundshare photoculminated on the final day of the month, with the announcement that we had reached an agreement with Heather St John’s to use their St John’s Park home for our inaugural season (right). We will be forever grateful to Heather for allowing us to get started as a football club.

Tomorrow, we take a look at the events of the month of April in the Hinckley AFC story.
