Match Preview: Tipton Town (a)
Hinckley AFC will take a break from league action this afternoon when they travel to Tipton Town in the FA Vase First Qualifying Round, kick off 3pm.
The trip to the Black Country will be a welcome distraction for Carl Abbott’s side, who will take part in an FA competition for the first time.
Tipton are still in the FA Cup after a 1-0 win at Sporting Khalsa last weekend, and currently lie 14th in the Midland League Premier Division.
Club captain JJ Melligan is a doubt after picking up a knock in last week’s defeat at Littleton, while Matt Bailey and Sean Williams left the club during the week to sign for league counterparts Studley.
If the match this afternoon is drawn, then the replay will take place this coming Tuesday at St John’s Park, kicking off at 7-45pm.
The winners of the tie will travel to Bromsgrove Sporting or Stourport Swifts in the next round, which will take place on Saturday 4th October.
Tipton play at Tipton Sports Academy, DY4 0BS. To get there, leave the M6 at Junction 9 and take the A461 through Wednesbury to the Ockerhill Island.
Follow the signs, taking a full right turn towards Bilston (A4098). After half a mile, turn left at the traffic lights (A4037), the thr ground in on the left after around 100 yards. Use the second entrance.
