Richards, Halil and Clarke-O’Connell sign on
Luke Richards, Bekir Halil and Tyrone Clarke-O’Connell are the latest three players to join Hinckley AFC, while Paul Tomlinson joins manager Carl Abbott’s backroom team.
Former Hinckley United striker Richards was with the club when it was liquidated in October, scoring eleven goals in 21 appearances for a struggling Knitters side. He joins the club after being with Barwell and Bedworth United last season following the Knitters’ demise.
Halil, a ball-playing centre back of Turkish descent, joins the club from Abbott’s former club, Wolverhampton Casuals. He has also been on the books at Walsall, and represented England Universities.
Finally, Clarke-O’Connell also joins the club from the Cassies. Abbott describes him as an ‘exciting young winger’, who has formerly played for Chasetown.
Abbott is making frequent trips to Leicestershire in his attempts to lure the best local talents to the club, hoping that Richards will be the first of many from the area to pull on a Hinckley shirt.
