Hinckley AFC 9-0 Stafford Town

A five-star performance from Sam Agar helped Hinckley AFC to another big victory in the Midland League First Division as they ran out 9-0 winners against Stafford Town.
A purposeful attacking display from the forwards caught the eye in the fixture, as five goals from Agar accompanied by a Ryan Seal brace and goals from Sean Williams and Isaac Cooper completed the scoring.
With manager Carl Abbott unable to attend the match due to the birth of his daughter, his side followed up their victory over Southam United with another big win meaning the team have now scored 22 goals in their last two games.
Hinckley made just one change to the side that beat Southam last week, with Jean Kalenda replacing Darious Darkin.
And AFC got off to the perfect start as Agar scored an early goal for the second game running, getting on the end of a Lee Butler cross and creeping the ball into the bottom left corner with the slightest of touches.
The striker continued his blistering start to the game with his second goal in just the seventh minute, skipping past the goalkeeper Sam Leeming to tap home into an open net.
Agar completed his remarkable 11 minute hat-trick after Marcus Jackson’s ball over the top caused the defenders all sorts of problems and allowed Agar to pinch the ball and finish confidently.
AFC continued to assert their dominance and Williams met a Butler free kick to head into the far corner, but the linesman flagged for offside to halt celebrations.
The match began to settle down after AFC’s quick start and the visitors’ Troy Hewitt tried to get his side back into the tie with a 25-yard effort which curled wide of Tom Cross’ net.
Stafford’s forward and captain Spencer Gunnell managed to time his run to get in behind the AFC defence but some excellent timing from Cross allowed him to get there first.
However the home side continued to assert their dominance on the match and were rewarded when Seal curled his shot into the far right corner to leave Leeming helpless.
Agar was back amongst the goals in the 38th minute as Seal turned provider, setting up his teammate to glance home in the six-yard box.
A team brewing with confidence were playing some fantastic football and a quick passing move resulted in Seal smashing his shot against the post for what would have been a stunning team goal. As it was, the sides went in 5-0 at half time – the same scoreline that had been accumulated against Southam.
The interval didn’t seem to affect AFC who were back in the goals straight after the break thanks to a fifth goal for Agar, who managed to get past his defender to steer in another Butler delivery.
But Stafford kept the game well contested and arguably their best chance of the match fell to Gunnell who took his shot on the half volley after a Tom Vaughan chest set him up, however it was straight at Cross who managed to keep the ball in his arms.
The dangerous pair of Seal and Agar once again punished the opposition as Agar floated a perfectly weighted pass into the path of his teammate, who took a good first touch before finishing past the goalkeeper to add a seventh.
Agar remained as dangerous as ever and nearly added another to his tally after turning the defender in the box but a super fingertip save from Leeming denied him.
A couple of quick fire goals added gloss to the scoreline with man of the match Agar assisting the pair of them.
Firstly, Sean Williams was set up unselfishly on the edge of the box to guide the ball firmly into the corner, and moments later substitute Cooper completed the scoring with the pick of the goals, smashing the ball goalbound as it crashed off the woodwork and into the net.
Dan Jones nearly grabbed a consolation for the visitors but his powerful drive ricocheted off the post and AFC kept another clean sheet in another thumping victory.
